Alison Mackay’s work is the “Observation” element of this joint exhibition with her partner, Richard Morecroft.

Closely observing her still life subjects, she uses oil paints to reproduce the luscious autumnal colours of figs and the richness of freshly-shucked oysters. 

Her compositions, which are often views from above with the subject matter spilling over the edge of the canvas, invite the viewer to wallow in the richness and beauty of food.
